Residential Irrigated Cropland

Residential Irrigated Cropland is the cropland anthrome with the highest population density.  Irrigation is a common practice despite the high median annual precipitation which helps to support half of this anthrome which cultivates at least 36% of its land.  This heterogeneous anthrome incorporates a small amount of pasture, forest, and urban area with vast swaths of agriculture.

Three of the top five constituent ecoregions are tropical broadleaf forests though they exist in such small percentages of the whole anthrome they are likely of little significance.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on one's perspective, great areas of the residential irrigated cropland have been clear cut and converted to large scale agriculture and pasture to support the local and regional populations.
