Summary Review: This book was not a winner in any of our review categories.  On the one hand, the approach impressed us right away- the examples were interesting and a very useful way to access the statistical materials.  On the other hand, within one sentence of practical descriptions of statistical problems to be solved, the text became extremely dense and hard to follow- requiring advanced knowledge of R.  So not such a helpful reference to us- but perhaps someone very good at R, but not so experienced with statistical problems, would find this book perfect for them.
