Diann is a Ph.D. candidate in MEES program at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her advisor is Dr.
Erle Ellis, Associate Professor in the Geography and Environmental
Systems Department at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
She entered the Ph.D. program at UM in fall 2004 and her research
focuses on spatial modeling of avian influenza transmission risk between wild
and domestic birds in China.
Diann is also a biologist at the USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center where
she has worked on a variety of ornithological studies in relation to climate
change, restoration ecology, and disease over the past 10 years with colonial
waterbird expert, Dr. R. Michael Erwin.
