Getting Started

Start here to begin mapping ecotopes using ArcGIS (tested on v9.0 - 9.3). Download the zip file: ecotope_files.zip - this contains all the necessary GIS files needed to create and validate ecotopes in your site. It also contains a Microsoft Access database: ecotope_v1.mdb this contains the latest ecotope classes and validation rules.

Updating Ecotope Files

Using the latest release of ecotope_v1.mdb is essential. The database contains the latest ecotopes classes used for validation. Update your local files by downloading the database and importing the tables to your ecotope_files.mdb geodatabase.

Submitting New Ecotopes

While validating your ecotopes, your site may have valid ecotopes that have not yet been mapped. After inspection, they will be added to the ecotope inventory.
